Oasis provides individual therapy for children, teens and adults. We specialize in helping people with autism, OCD, anxiety, mild depression, parenting strategies, and general life stress.
Telehealth is available to clients in Kansas and Missouri.
In-person sessions are available at my Prairie Village, KS location. At this time, in-person appointments are self-pay only.
All sessions are by appointment only.
Support Groups
Group therapy is a very effective way to receive support! Oasis has various online and in person groups. Some of our groups include Adults with Anxiety and Autism, and Adults with OCD. Groups form based on clients' needs. For the safety and confidentiality of members, all groups are closed (by invitation only) and open to my own current and past clients only.
Intensive Therapy Groups
When dealing with severe OCD or anxiety, one hour a week for therapy sometimes is not enough. Oasis Counseling and Enrichment provides Intensive Outpatient groups that meet for 9 hours per week for four weeks in a small group format of 2-5 people for targeted individualized attention. We are working on getting insurance contracts for this service. Until then, this service is self-pay only.
Classes/Events
Oasis holds various enrichment events from time to time. These might include a meditation workshop, a class for therapists on sandtray, or our popular Logic and Hot Chocolate™ or Puzzles and Pajamas™ days. For details on current events, please visit the Events tab.
Outreach is very important to me, especially regarding OCD, which is such a misunderstood disorder. I am very happy to come speak to any group regarding OCD symptoms and treatment. Just ask!
Autism Assessment
Many adults wonder if they might be on the autism spectrum and I enjoy collaboratively helping you explore that topic. I can also provide formal autism assessments for toddlers through adult, including the ADOS-2, or various measures, if desired. Formal autism assessments include an initial session/clinical interview, testing session, results session, collaboration with others such as teachers and pediatrician/doctors (as appropriate) and an informative report with recommendations. Wait time to get in for an assessment is less than 3 months and I am often able to get you in much sooner. How am I able to do this? Because I do not keep a wating list. I only take on the clients I can serve within a reasonable amount of time. If I am booked out more than a couple of months, I will close to taking new clients until more space becomes available.
Career Assessment
Assessment is a wise choice prior to going to college. It can save a lot of time, effort, money and frustration to have some guidance before heading off to college and declaring a major. Career testing is also appropriate and helpful for anyone considering a career change. The assessments I use culminate in a lengthy report providing insight and guidance on work styles, learning styles, career areas and even hobbies.
