Insurance
In-person sessions are currently self-pay only while we work on those contracts with insurance companies. Formal autism assessments and career/college assessments are self-pay only.
I accept many insurance plans for telehealth. We are in network with Aetna, Optum, UMR, and United to name a few.
I am out of network with BCBS, however, those with BCBS may be able to use Out of Network Benefits. I will provide you with a detailed receipt that you can turn in to BCBS. Many people who have BCBS receive 80-90% back using their Out of Network benefits. Others have to meet a deductible first, and some do not not have out of network benefits for mental health. Unfortunately I cannot accept Medicaid or Tricare. I do accept Health Spending Account and Flexible Spending Account funds.
It is each client's responsibility to know your plan and benefits.
Insurance claims are filed as a courtesy. My service is provided to you, not your insurance company and while I will file the claim it will be up to the client to follow up on any unpaid claims and to pay for any services rendered, regardless of insurance.
Fees and Payment
Co-pays are due at the time of service.
A current working credit card or debit card must be kept on file to cover copays, coinsurance, and session fees.
There is a one-time technology fee of $25 when becoming established as a client with this practice. This is due when scheduling, after filling out consent forms, and is non-refundable.
At this time, self-pay fees are $175 for the first session or any session in which a diagnosis is being formulated; $150 for sessions thereafter. Shorter sessions are $130 and $110 respectively.
Records requests will be charged the allowed fee, as well as per page charges allowed by law.
Cancellation Fees
There is no charge if cancelling an appointment with 24 hours notice. If cancelling with 3-23 hours notice, there is a $50 fee. If cancelling with less than three hours notice or a no show, the full session fee will be charged. Insurance cannot be billed for no-shows or late cancels.
Oasis Counseling and Enrichment does not judge anyone's reasons for cancellations. All reasons are good reasons, including forgetting the appointment, a last minute work obligation came up, slept through, sick child, etc. The cancellation fee policy should be seen as our obligation to one another and not as any type of punishment or penalty. We simply must apply this policy fairly and consistently across all late cancels/no shows without getting into the murky business of judging anyone's reasons. This is especially important in a business where services are provided on a one-at-a-time, for an hour basis.
At some point, if we work together long enough, you will inevitably need to late cancel, or perhaps forget to show. This is understandable and human, so again, please do not take the policy as any kind of judgement or penalty. Please make sure that you whole-heartedly accept this policy before signing up for services so that there is not a rupture in your therapy over this issue at a later time. If you do not accept this policy, that is completely OK, however, it would be best to find a practice whose policies are more in-line with your needs and preferences. There are many counselors who will waive a no-show or cancellation fee if they feel that you have a good enough reason. My practice policies are what works the best for my business.
